Author Guidelines

  1. Scope and Article Types

GJMSTI welcomes high-quality, original submissions that advance knowledge in science, engineering, health, and technological innovation. Accepted manuscript types include:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Review Articles
  • Short Communications
  • Technical Reports
  • Case Studies
  • Editorials and Perspectives

 

  1. Manuscript Submission

Manuscripts should be submitted via the GJMSTI Online Submission System or by email to dolodu@biu.edu.ng. Submissions must be in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).

 

  1. Manuscript Structure

Authors should structure manuscripts as follows:

  1. Title Page
  • Concise and informative article title
  • Full names of all authors with institutional affiliations
  • Contact details of the corresponding author (email and phone number)
  1. Abstract
  • 200–250 words summarizing the background, objectives, methodology, key findings, and implications
  • Include 4–6 keywords below the abstract
  1. Main Text
  1. Introduction – Context, problem statement, objectives, and literature review
  2. Materials and Methods – Experimental design, data sources, and analytical techniques
  3. Results and Discussion – Present findings with relevant figures/tables and interpretation
  4. Conclusion – Summarize key outcomes and suggest future directions
  1. Acknowledgments (if applicable)
    e. Conflict of Interest Statement
    f. Funding Information
    g. References – Follow APA 7th edition or IEEE format

 

  1. Formatting Guidelines
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
  • Line Spacing: 1.5
  • Margins: 1 inch on all sides
  • Page Numbers: Bottom center
  • Figures and Tables: Numbered, titled, and placed near their citation in the text

 

  1. Figures and Tables
  • Submit high-resolution figures (minimum 300 dpi)
  • Ensure tables are editable (not images)
  • All figures and tables must be cited within the text

 

  1. Referencing Style

GJMSTI follows the APA 7th Edition by default. Examples:

  • Journal Article:
    Smith, J. A., & Doe, R. (2023). Advances in solar cell materials. Journal of Renewable Energy, 15(3), 210–225. https://doi.org/xxxxx
  • Book:
    Brown, T. M. (2022). Engineering Thermodynamics (2nd ed.). Springer.

IEEE referencing may be used upon editorial approval.

 

  1. Ethical Considerations

Authors must ensure:

  • Manuscript originality and absence of plagiarism (checked using Turnitin)
  • Ethical approval for studies involving human or animal subjects
  • Clear declarations of conflicts of interest and funding sources

 

  1. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers. The review process typically takes 3–6 weeks. Final decisions may be:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

 

  1. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

As an open-access journal, GJMSTI charges an APC of USD 30or ₦ 20,000for Nigerian only upon manuscript acceptance to cover review, editing, and publishing. Waivers or discounts may be granted for authors from low-income regions.

 

  1. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright. Upon acceptance, articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), allowing free distribution and reuse with appropriate credit.

 

  1. Manuscript Withdrawal Policy

Manuscripts under review may not be withdrawn without a justified, written request. The Editorial Board reserves the right to approve or decline such requests.
