Preprint Policy
Global Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies and Technological Innovations (GJMSTI)
Commitment to Open Science
GJMSTI supports the principles of open scholarship and encourages the submission of manuscripts that have previously been posted as preprints.
Definition
A preprint is a version of a scholarly work posted on a publicly accessible preprint server before peer review or acceptance by a journal. Preprints typically have a DOI and are available for citation.
Policy Guidelines
- Eligibility: Manuscripts previously posted on recognized preprint servers (e.g., arXiv, SSRN, Research Square) may be submitted, provided they are not already accepted or published in a peer-reviewed journal.
- Disclosure: Authors must disclose the existence of a preprint at submission, providing the DOI or URL in the cover letter and manuscript (Acknowledgments or Preprint Statement).
- Review Process: Peer review at GJMSTI is independent of preprint status or feedback. Editorial decisions are based solely on internal review criteria.
- Citation of Preprints: Preprints must be cited with full attribution. Example:
Smith, J., & Doe, A. (2023). Title of manuscript. bioRxiv. https://doi.org/xxxx
- Post-Publication Update: Authors are encouraged to update the preprint with a reference to the final published article, including the GJMSTI DOI.
Copyright and Licensing
Authors must retain rights to the preprint and ensure it does not infringe third-party rights. The license must be compatible with GJMSTI’s policies (typically CC BY or CC BY-NC).
